Este jovial si mereu pus pe glume. Fundasul dreapta de origine franceza Anthony Da Silva, transferat în aceasta iarna de la gruparea portugheza Estrela Amadora, s-a integrat perfect la CFR, fiind responsabil cu buna dispozitie în vestiarul feroviarilor. Tony a surprins înca de la început prin "look"-ul special, la care nu are de gând sa reunte: ras în cap, cu sprâncenele în dungi si cercei în urechi, cheliosul de pe banda dreapta a fost imediat îndragit de suporteri.

Înainte sa vina la CFR Cluj, fundasul dreapta de la Estrela Amadora a fost intens curtat de mai multe cluburi din Europa, printre care Benfica Lisabona, FC Toulouse si Steaua Bucuresti. Tony urma sa-i ia locul lui George Ogararu, transferat la Ajax Amsterdam. "În vara anului trecut, au sosit mai multe oferte pe adresa clubului din Amadora. Am vorbit cu si cu managerul Stelei, Mihai Stoica, însa am refuzat oferta lor. În iarna, am fost cautat din nou de Benfica si Toulouse. Dar am ales sa vin la CFR, chiar daca oferta francezilor era una mult mai atractiva", a marturisit Tony. El spune ca a avut parte de o primire foarte calda din partea noilor sai de echipa si nu îsi face probleme în ceea ce priveste acomodarea. "Vreau sa învat cât mai repede româneste. Deja am prins câteva fraze si în scurt timp cred ca voi putea face fata unei conversatii. Recunosc ca venirea la Cluj este o aventura pentru mine, însa sunt pregatit de orice", a spus Tony. El este de parere ca CFR are în acest moment jucatori valorosi, care ar putea evolua chiar în campionatele puternice din Europa. "Îl apreciez mult pe mijlocasul Coroian. Face o treaba buna la mijlocul terenului. Eu îi spun <Zidane>. De asemenea, capitanul Minteuan m-a impresionat prin determinarea din teren", a explicat el.
Campion la juniori
Tony da Silva a crescut pâna la vârsta de 18 ani în Franta, fiind un produs 100% al clubului Paris Saint-Germain. Apoi s-a transferat în liga a doua portugheza la Deportivo Chaves, orasul natal al tatalui sau. "Timp de 11 ani, am stat în curtea lui Paris-Saint Germain, o perioada frumoasa din viata mea. Am câstigat si campionatul national la juniori. Apoi am activat la echipa a doua a lui PSG, unde am fost coleg cu Fredy (fundasul stânga transferat de CFR de la Pacos de Ferreira)", a explicat el. Tony a cunoscut consacrarea în 2005, când s-a transferat la Estrela Amdora, în prima liga portugheza de fotbal, unde a fost coleg cu atacantul de culoare a lui CFR, Antonio Semedo. În ultimul sezon, jucatorul de origine franceza a jucat 32 de partide din 34, fiind unul din cei mai apreciati fundasi din Portugalia.

Cei doi s-au întâlnit înca din ziua în care noul fundas a fost prezentat oficial. "Nu am apucat sa-l vad decât la câteva antrenamente, pentru ca a plecat în cantonament. Trecând peste faptul ca avem acelasi nume, Tony mi se pare un jucator foarte bun, care va ajuta mult echipa. Este un tip extrem de determinat în teren si sunt convins ca va face o treaba buna. Dintre cei veniti, el este preferatul meu", a marturisit el.
